There is a knock at the main doors of Castle X. After being admitted to the waiting area to see Gerg the Oracle, word is sent to Gerg that an old friend is here to see him.
When Gerg sees the young man now in his 20's he senses something about this visitor but he cannot put his finger on it.
Hello my old friend, it has been some time since my last visit. I see your searching to remember me. Does Risa bring back any memories?
Arztie, little Arztie is that you? You have grown to be a young man, it is good to see you my old friend.
Let me explain, I owe you that after all these years. I am Durant or at least another avatar of Durant. My body is trapped inside a castle tower in Orbania by the Sword Rulers.
I had to start over with a new avatar after I lost Durango, my first avatar, at the final battle at the Crystal Castle. I gave this gift of life to Risa to have and raise and she sent me to you for safety.
But while I was performing a belling on a church, I was given a vision of you. You were in the Crystal Castle of the Mind Flayers. You seemed to be in a coma and your eyes where totally black. I was afraid I would have to go there and bring you out. Are you still in need of my help in that venture?
Your vision was true. I am still there and cannot leave while the Sword Ruler King and his magic’s are there. For the last 5 years this is the form I have used to walk about Skell.
I have not dealt with these Sword Rulers yet because their power prevents my avatar from entering Renalsite lands and my body there is limited at the moment.
But my friend, I need to ask you, how are things here and in Greyhawk?

I have heard that the Mayor has gone missing and is feared dead. I also understand that there is trouble brewing within the Guilds. What can you tell me about that if anything?
The city is being torn apart by the infighting of the Guilds. When the Wizards Guild fell, the Thieves Guild took over for a time. I did not like the fact that the Thieves were in charge but they kept the peace and did not bother the normal people much. When the Thieves Guild was brought down, the Oligarchy took over, but they are losing control quickly. Since the Mayor disappeared it has only gotten worse.
Why the interest in the Guilds?
Yes, I’m glad you asked, I have a special interest in magic and reviving the magic college here in Greyhawk. I have been keeping tabs on things from afar and I wish to try and help here.
I will be staying at the Wizards Temple, this will need to be kept low key, I do not want anyone to know I’m here as of yet. That reminds me, I will also be known as Tnarud. (the T is silent)
I have checked and know the building to be empty. If you hear of strange things in and around the college, assume it to be ghosts as I want the place to be left alone.
I am glad to hear that you are interested in bringing back the Mages Guild. I will help you in any way that I can.
I have also been practicing my healing abilities and things are going very well. If ever you need my help all you need to do is, ask.

I am interested in speaking to someone within the city that you trust. Someone that is in an authority position and I would like to meet him in the coming weeks for I might be of service to him and he too could help me with information.
There are several people in Greyhawk that you could talk to that would be able to give you much better information on the state of the city. One of them is Tam of the Thief Catchers Guild. He would be able to tell you who to talk to and where to find the skeletons of most of the important people of the city. I'm not telling you to use this information to blackmail the important people but maybe you can think of something to push then in the right direction.
I can give you a letter on introduction for Tam if you wish. I will tell him you are an old and trusted friend of mine and he should treat you as he would me. Will that help you?
