Okay, the undermountain city of Golgothas is located in the Sascas Hills in southern Sascrephonia. Sascrephonia, the most southwest kingdom on Mikhal, is diverse among its races and terrains.
This dwarven city has around 5,000 hearths and is very secure. It has fungus farms, it's own underground water source, and it's own commerce and culture.
During the Bugbear Wars circa 3722 the dwarves did not fight against the bugbears. However, it was because of the actions of a monk of Chulainn, Cu-Chugari that this is so.
Wyvern Ridge was an important piece of ground because it was the main road between Acrinon (the main outpost of the dwarven army) and the outside world.
King Thunderforge was being advised by a group of "wisemen", one of which was Cu-Chugari, relative of Cu-Chulainn and wielder of Gungir, the magical spear of his ancestors. It was made from the bones of a sea dragon killed by Cu-Chulainn himself.
The dwarves were victorious when Thundeforge singlehandedly defeated Great Claw, the Bugbear champion. (This part of the story is subject to some conspiracy theorists, much like the Kennedy assassination).
After the battle Thunderforge was weakened and hurt, so Cu-Chugari lead the dwarven army after the retreating bugbears. It was a trap!! The dwarves were decimated and humiliated. Cu-Chugari died but somehow his spear was never found? How odd, the traitor!!! The dwarves returned to Golgothas but have never forgiven Cu-Chugari and have sworn to never trust another monk of Chulainn.
Funny thing, some of the names of the "wisemen" who advised Thunderforge were, in no particular order, Brother Celf (an elven monk of Chulainn), Silvaan the elf, Elfmage Barthalanthas Amalereth of the Third House of Emerald, Arik & Aron (twin elves who left shortly after meeting Thunderforge), Allen Firmfoot (halfling), Klaiden the giant, and finally Torin Stoneshifter.
Other names that have been mentioned during this time are Bonacher, Crusher, Brinax, and Krinlow, one of the Seven Sascas Brothers and most foul of all the usurpers of the civil war, but these individuals and their parts in this story are not detailed.
