Born in 3623 as Silvaan in the Greystone Forest to his mother, Gwenithallis, and father, Salleck. Silvaan lived to normal life as he grew up in the Greystone Forest, he and his best friend Qullippesees often would have their short adventures around the forest, but not so far away as to receive the wrath of their mothers. A favorite time had by the two young lads was to hang out in the balcony of the throne room and listen to the events and happenings that occurred there, often acting out the different parts of visiting Nobles or other guests in attendance. Although the two boy's always thought they had sneaked into the hall, some of the guards had noticed and allowed this to continue unchallenged as Qullippesees' father, General Whilchaw, was in charge of the castle guards and the First Defense Unit for the protection of the city.
As the years went by, both Silvaan and Qullippesees continued their friendship and in 3668 both now young men joined the Ranks of the Grey and underwent the training of soldier's as did all the men in both of their families before them. They managed to serve together for another 25 years and still stayed close friends.
In the spring of 3693, Silvaan's parents had arranged for their son to marry Rosenstrasse, the young daughter of the well known Eleven Merchant, Minderhassel. Silvaan was not yet ready for this but he would follow the ways of his family and new that they would be happy together in time. But this was just the beginning of another problem, you see, Qullippesees had a crush on Rosenstrasse for about 7 years but was unable to get up the nerve to tell Silvaan or Rosenstrasse how he had felt.
The news of the arranged marriage brought out the worst in Qullippesees and the friendship between Silvaan and himself took a turn for the worst. Finally after much prodding as to the cause of their declining friendship, it became clear as to what Qullippesees' feelings toward Rosenstrasse where. This troubled Silvaan and he spoke to both his parents and to Rosenstrasse about his friends blight but things could not be changed and she loved and had been hoping for this marriage to Silvaan for many years. Silvaan again spoke to his once friend to try and recover what had been lost but to no avail, Qullippesees' mind had been set, the friendship was over.
In the fall of 3699 Silvaan and Rosenstrasse where to be wed under the great tree in the courtyard of the Greystone Castle itself. All would be there to see this grand union except for one, Qullippesees. Knowing of this, Silvaan decided to once again try to make peace with Qullippesees before his union and went to his home. Qullippesees answered the door and allowed entrance to Silvaan, they sat at a table across from one another, after several moments of silence the air was broken by Qullippesees, he was giving Silvaan one last chance to not go through with the marriage or else! Silvaan stated that the point of no return had been past and he wanted them to get over this 6 year old bump in their friendship!
This was not good enough for Qullippesees and out came a blade from under the shirt of Qullippesees, pointed at Silvaan.
Silvaan jumped to his feet in disbelief but the dagger was real as it came thrusting toward Silvaan in a near miss stab attack. Silvaan grabbed a pan near the cooking hearth and used it for defense. After a few more attacks Silvaan was able to knock the dagger from Qullippesees' hand to the floor and the two became intertwined in a wrestling fight. Back and forth, knocking the table and other furniture about the home the two continued to brawl. Both where getting tired as one good hit from Silvaan had put Qullippesees down to the floor on his belly. "Had enough yet Qullippesees?" beckoned Silvaan. The room became silent, he was not moving as he lay there on the floor. Silvaan thought he was knocked out and proceeded to help him up and into a bed, but what was this? Blood! Everything on and around his chest was bloody, then Silvaan noticed the handle of the dagger sticking out of his friends chest. "NOOOO!!!!" cried Silvaan as he grabbed the handle of the blade and pulled if from his dead friend, "What have I done?".
Silvaan rose to his feet and stumbled out the door calling for help, moving about the streets, blood on his clothes and a dagger in his hand he cried for help.
A couple of General Whilchaw's men noticed and came running about to see what had happened. They noticed the blood and dagger in Silvaan's hand, one of them removed the dagger from his possession, Silvaan was babbling something about Qullippesees being near death, and the other went inside the home to find the Generals son dead from a stab wound near the heart. They arrested Silvaan and took him to the General.
The General was distraught of hearing of his son's gruesome death, he ordered that Silvaan be locked away for 100 years for this crime against his heart broken son, was it not enough to steal the woman of Qullippesees' heart but to halve to kill him on top of it. Regardless of what Silvaan had stated or the petitions from Silvaan's family, there was no seeing the truth in the eye's of General Whilchaw. The law was satisfied with the evidence against Silvaan.
In the winter of 3701, Silvaan's father and Rosenstrasse's father had been given the chance to see Silvaan and have a new hearing of the facts and evidence in this case reviewed by court officials. Silvaan was brought forth from the dungeons and put at a table to be reviewed by his peer's. The retrial was short as the evidence had not changed and the arguments where the same. Silvaan was ordered to be returned to the castle dungeons for the remainder of his sentence.
Upon being led toward the steps to the dungeon he pummeled his guards who had not expected anything from such an obedient prisoner. They were dazed just enough for Silvaan to escape. Silvaan was able to steal warmer clothing and a horse from a near by stable and road off into the snow covered forest. With the ensuing snowstorm he was able to lose his followers and continued on until he came out of the forest near the main road that he then took into Podducca. He was able to find a place to stay and food in return for work until the end of winter. As the snow melted and travel became possible again, some Elven military came to town and with the Podducca guard posted signs around the city's streets with the likeness of Silvaan pictured with a description of him and a reward of 5000 gold coins for his return alive. With this, Silvaan adopted the name of Kalvash and made haste to leave town and head South West for a spell.
In the year of 3722, Kalvash served as a "Wiseman" to the Dwarven King Thunderforge during the Bugbear wars.
In 3745 Kalvash hears of the Renalsing King naming the mounted Stone Eleves as "The Knights of the Stone", this hits Kalvash hard as he misses his home land and was sure that by now he might have been named one of those Knights.
In 3752, Kalvash once again met up with King Thunderforge and traveled with him and his men for a time before deciding to return to the Stone Forest to clear his name of a crime he did not commit. He arrives under the name Kalvash and is escorted to the court. He again receives a trial and this time King Haltha himself is presiding over the case. He brings out the Rune Staff and asks a few questions of the defendant. After a while in chambers, King Haltha returns and set free the term of 100 years but adds that the agreed upon marriage must take place no later then Sunfall, Kalvash having been away for many years says he need time to think this over, for his love or duty has changed these many years he has been among the Humans. The time is granted and given this chance, Kalvash mounts his horse and rides off to Podducca again.
In 3753 Kalvash joins the employ of Percival's Traveling Circus as a guard and thus his first meeting with the Human Viscount, Jacara.
Kalvash is an oddity for an elf in that he wears plate armor and refuses to honor his Graystone heritage. Most other elves see him as loud and attribute that to his acting more like a human than an elf.
