Tam Smith was born the only child to Kerr Smith, blacksmith of Colbjornsen (small village south of Greyhawk) and Gertrude Smith-Lunde.
Tam's father was killed in an iron ingot delivery. His mother remarried when Tam was young to Olaf Lunde, an up-and-coming member of the Royal Greyhawk Thief Catcher's Guild. Olaf took Tam as his own son and raised him. Although Olaf was frequently gone, the absences were short and Tam grew to love Olaf as if he were his real father.
During his childhood and young adolescence, Olaf would spend days at a time in the forest, learning and experiencing the diversity. Olaf used his basic knowledge and guided his step-son in the arts of tracking and in the ways of people.
When Tam became of age, Olaf secured him an apprentice position within the guild. Exploits while a member, have put Tam on the fast track moving him swiftly up the ladder within the guild. Tam is currently a Journeyman with a special unit within the guild. Olaf has become guildmaster and uses Tam to ensure his new policies are well enforced.
It is clear Tam is being groomed for the Guildmaster Throne, while Olaf has his sights set on even bigger political gains within the great city.
