Sorrin and I have met up with a group that is helping a small city deal with some ever changing problems. When we first met the group they were distrustful and quite frankly bedraggled and beaten . We assisted them with food and accompanied them back to their city ,where their apparent leader Kalvash seems to be the cities Reeve. Kalvash agreed to help Sorrin get a phoenix feather from a portal by opening the door. This is the part I didn't like, Sorrin stepping into the dark nowhere and not being able to see or hear him. Many times Sorrin and I talked without speaking ,a mental link between us, scary for me at first trusting someone with my innermost thoughts but in time this connection was comforting and pleasant. As he disappeared into that doorway a feeling of dread overcame me then uncontrolled fear, looking up a black dragon passed me,then it shifted, changed size and shape,a three headed beast stepped into the portal after Sorrin and I was helpless to act.Moments later after I regained my senses,Sorrin stepped out of the doorway with a black stone he claimed to have a conscience inside but no feather. While Kalvash argued with Sorrin about getting back in there and getting his feather so he could close the portal, I moved to the door taking a deep breath and saying a small prayer, placed my hand inside the doorway and to my amazement pulled a phoenix feather out. This I gave to Sorrin and Kalvash closed the portal. Sorrin told everyone there was a conscience inside the stone and he was going to talk to it.I was not the only one who thought this was a very bad idea, but that didn't stop him from doing so. The moment he opened his mind to that thing his body shook and convulsed then he collapsed on the ground. After a moment of shock at what I was seeing I knew I had to get that stone from his hand and break contact with Sorrins mind before it killed him.Everyone was yelling and arguing about how to proceed, I grasped the stone and pulled but to no avail,Sorrin griped it tightly. Kalvash tried to wedge his sword tip between the stone and hand ,still no luck,Moji tried to grapple it out but also failed. Muglub tried to flip his special dagger at it with no results. Then with a combined effort from Kalvash and I we pried it from his hand. Moji threw a bag over the stone then lifted Sorrin carring him to the Inn. After renting a room and placing Sorrin in bed, Muglug offered his potion ,Kalvash told us that he would look for a friend.I believe his name was Brother Bart to come and heal Sorrin or at least figure out what was going on. Kalvash took the bagged stone with him in hopes that this Bart would know if it was the cause of this. I knew the contact with this thing was to blame for I no longer could hear Sorrins thoughts and that scared me more than his laying there lifeless. But for now all I could do was wait and pray to Corellon to watch over my friend.

Sorrin and I had been walking for sometime ,luckily we met no opposition in our travels. Then seeing smoke rising in the distance we headed that way. We met the bedraggled party at a turn in the path. Ferrel whimpered a bit and looked at me , his way of warning that someone was coming our way. A tall person in armor and a long sword stepped into view calling out a warning to identify ourselves.Sorrin mind touched me to approach non threatening. We both opened our cloaks to assure them that our weapons were not drawn. On closer inspection there was also a dwarf with a cross-bow ,that made me nervous as dwarves tend to shoot first and ask if your friendly later ,at least this has been my experience. The large man upon removing his helm appeared to be elven ,he gave his name as Kalvash and asked us ours. Sorrin gave his name and after looking about the camp to inspect the rest of the group I gave my full name .They looked as through they had been in heavy combat, as most were bloodied and battered looking worse for wear.Once fear of us attacking was dismissed we set about aiding them as best we could with stitches, herbs and some bandaging. The crossbow wielding dwarf was named Moji, there was a half-elf Druid ,Atty ,a human fighter named Letay, and what I assumed was a mage named Ariendal, only because of her robes. She was rather quiet and appeared to be confused. The smell of burnt boar was heavy in the air and made my stomach lurch ,ugh pig grease not very appealing to me, but if one was hungry some would eat anything. After a good nights rest in their camp we agreed to follow them into town. Gomenit....if one can call it a city was fairly war torn, the docks a shambles, wood and debris everywhere, docks destroyed and nearby homes and businesses in need of repair or replacement. Upon getting there we settled into a room at the Inn, a far cry from my lodging at my brothers and I cabin outside of Greyhawk and not the nicest I had slept in but it would suffice. I find our new companions argumentative, especially the one called Kalvash, what a pompous ass ,frankly I don't understand the doey eyed looks the women here give him.Oh he's comely enough if you like the sort that expects every woman to fall at his feet and into his bed. Personally I find a more reserved male more attractive, one with manners, like the druid Atty. We did some exploring and visited a few shops then looked for Kalvash, since Sorrin had business to discuss with him , as usual I came along being my quiet self, more observing than speaking, too many people talk much but say little of import ,but what they do say and how they say it speaks volumes of their charator and Sorrin would expect my opinion of them later when we were alone. After their debated talk Sorrin found out he would need a phoenix feather . We headed back to the inn to join some of our new companions in a meal at the Flying Squid,:chuckles to herself:: Seaside towns and their business names are a never ending amusement to me. Sorrin of course is in deep debate with Kalvash the moment he arrives at the inn ,wanting information no one is easily willing to let go.Several of our new friends are interesting to say the least. The dwarf Moji for instance, he seems to say what is on his mind no matter how brash or rude it is. I think I need to study this behavior more to grasp why dwarves feel this need to be so honest in their dealings with others.Moji's devil take care attitude gives me humor but I am sure having him at your side in battle would be to benefit to all. Even Kalvash despite his self centered attitude seems to truly care for his rag tailed band of misfits. We shall see how all this plays out. After our misfortune at the wall of portals and Sorrin's recovery to consciousness ,we discover a demon in our mists and the talking Goblin Muglugg kills it with his special dagger. Unfortunately it was residing in the body or more likely had taken Arendals form. The group is shocked and its written all over their faces as they realize they lost her long before coming back to town. Stretching our legs a bit,Sorrin and I reacquaint our relationship, with his mind no longer able to touch mine and me feeling like I lost something but am unable to grasp what it is.Then we hear shouting and screaming, without hesitation we head toward the wall where the commotion seems to be coming from. Goblings!! Pouring out of a door in the wall of portals. Our companions all seem appear from different directions and we form a line of defence against the screaming horde of grotesque beasts. Those that can fire they arrows at the oncoming gibbering goblins taking down a few before they are upon us. Sorrin unarmed for the most part steps back behind the line and I and others draw our weapons as more come forward to meet us in battle. To my surprise Kalvash steps to Sorrin to protect him and yells to me to hold the line, I think he has gone up a few notches in my eyes as a leader. The battle is quick and bloody with a surprise of goat headed creatures appearing but in the end we survived . I thank Correlin in silent prayer for his mercy ,then asset the state of my companions before checking the bodies for clues and making sure they are dead. Moji and I collect what arrows and bolts we can but the only things these creatures are carrying are disgusting trinkets that only a goblin would love. Shortly afterwards the guards show up and help remove the dead to the fire portal for disposal. Two strangers appear from the west road ,a Female mercenary who calls herself Raina and another dwarf, this one balding with what Moji called an impressive beard, from what I could see it was full of crumbs and stale mead, but another mystery in the dwarven culture I will have to look into at a later date, this one calls himself Beyorn. I was extremely pleased to see Ally appear to the group but kept this to myself. I was indeed pleased to see Atty again and asked him to walk with me outside the city using Ferrel need of the woods as an excuse. The walk was pleasing ,I enjoy Atty's quiet mannerisms and the way he calls me "my lady" although I am not royalty ,perhaps its just his way of being polite ,whatever it is I like it but wish he would use my name more often. we returned before nightfall to the inn. Apparently a healer named Perri ,a human female asked to bond with our war-band ,that made me laugh ,not the healer herself but her referring to us as a war band was very humorous.I would guess that she was attractive by the re-actions of Sorrin and Kalvash ,I swear that Sorrin drooled a bit but it could have been my imagination. Kalvash hired her and she did heal those in need. She makes me uneasy but most humans do , they always seem to have an agenda that they leave out of their statements when discussing business matters. Well for good or ill we are now eight companions protecting this back water city. May Correllin look over us all ,I have the feeling we are going to need it.

Well this morning did start well but went down hill quickly. Ferrel and I took a walk in the woods again with Atty, while he did his morning rituals ,Ferrel looked for rabbits but they seemed to be hiding this morning .We returned to the Flying Squid for breakfast . Kavash was there Talking to the mayor and the inn owner about arrangements for the company since none of us had money coming in and funds are running low. Kavash planned a trip to the outskirts of town to see if we could get the local farmers to donate some food and old weapons to us since we were protecting the town basically for free. That would start in the morning , I offered to hunt for food, Kavash wanted me to hunt with him at night but that idea didn't really appeal to me, at night,in the woods, with an elf I still really didn't know and there were a lot of rumors about how he was with women . Gave me the creeps just thinking about it.No I would rather go first light and hunt till noon. Then the downhill part started when Atty insulted Sorrin by calling him a bard. Honest mistake ,after all he was playing his flute for coin at the inn the other night, and I stated as much, then Sorrin Had the bad taste to voice out loud "oh yeah take his side cause you like him". I prayed at that moment to disappear and that none of our companions heard that most of all Atty. The only saving grace I had was someone ran in saying there was trouble at the wall. We all headed that way and sure enough there were five short, wide heavily cloaked figures walking towards us. Looked like dwarves to me. Kavash tried to talk to them and then a weapon appeared. Sorrin did a mind trick and lifted back the hood on the lead figure, yup a dwarf. As Kavash tried to talk to them it just started getting messy. How that elf became the reave of this city is beyond me. You do not suck up to mercenaries ,you demand, threaten to shoot them in the eye,cut off their beards and feed it to them backwards , dwarves have no respect for babies and whiners .They respect strength and threatening tones, insults even if you have no intention of doing any of the things you threaten. But its his show but damn I think I'm on the wrong side of this circus. We finally found out the leader was Jerric Darkbeard, nothing ominous about that name, and that Moji knew of him. After much name calling and insults they agreed to go to the Squid for a drink. Once there I got to finish most of my breakfast. Bjourn and one of Darkbeards men decided to have a little fighting contest but before many punches were thrown we had more trouble at the wall. Once again that 3 headed demon showed up but this time it was huge. The dwarves run right into the fray, along with Latey,Raina and Bjorn Atty ,Moji ,Sorrin and I held back with Perri. The dwarves took a beating along with LaTey but once again the beast died. I am beginning to think there is a lot more going on around here than meets the eye. A lot of stupid distractions to pull us away from the real tasks at hand, but its only a feeling. Upon returning to the inn ,the dwarves headed out as they had shown up ,few words and bad attitudes but they did convey their respect for our skills as fighters.Perri healed Latey and then I asked Raina if she would like to join me at the bath house for a much needed cleaning.I called it a night early and as Sorrin walked into the room I hurled my boot at his head.We argued about his stupid outburst about Atty. He actually had no cue as to what he said out loud ,but I was having none of it ,I insisted he sleep elsewhere. He went down to the common room without a word. The next morning Ferrel and I awoke before dawn and woke Sorrin asking him to hunt with us.We left long before anyone else was awake and headed to the forest. It was the longest quietest walk we had ever taken together. Once far enough from town I told him I was sorry for over re-acting, I explained to him I had never really had an interest in a man before and it was new ground for me. Hell I hadn't even owned a dress since I was ten, its been leathers and hunting most of my adult life with a bunch of men twice my age and smelling of leather and stale beer .I have no idea how to attract a man, unless it involves setting a trap to snare him in. I guess I got caught up in his sweet words and him calling me m'lady but he had nothing to worry about my head was back on straight and I was back to being his guard as I promised his father I would, beside the idea of Sorrin getting hurt because my head was in the clouds was not what I wanted. And the fact that Sorrin father could probably turn my brain into a pile of gue had absolutely nothing to do with it.Sorrin chuckled at that. I understood that Sorin was so used to speaking to me without talking he didn't intentionally try to hurt me.Little did he know how much I missed that to. So I assured him it was all water under the bridge and we were friends and companions till he no longer needed me. I managed to fell a deer ,field dressed it and we carried it back with us to the inn. After dropping it off with the inn keeper we headed towards the road where Kavash had gone ,once we met up with them we walked back .they had done well and gathered quite a bit of food. As we all settled in for a meal a young boy came in and offered La Tey a phoenix feather since he needed one he took it. We were listening to Kavash tell us what had happened on their trek and found out they ran into the war wagon but of course they denied any wrong doing . Yup got that weird something is going on behind our backs feeling again. If I could just remember what is missing in my brain maybe I could put my finger on it. Once again that unusual boy showed up this time wanting the feather back, Rather than making LaTey give his up Sorrin gave his own to the boy, then the boy said the ship was leaving and wouldn't be back again ,so if anyone wanted to get on it it was now or never I looked to Sorrin but he shook his head no. Yeah well stepping on to a mysterious ship that caused this group to almost perish was not what I wanted to do anyway. Besides Bart had told us it was a bad idea. Then again we really knew little about Bart , yup there goes that nagging itch again. Well that was forgotten the moment Perri asked us to go shopping with her, well I needed a break ,so off I went .

Bored out of my mind if it wasn't for the need to take Ferrel into the woods I would go stir crazy around here. Still taking walks with Atty, his company is always enjoyed, even if he is very quiet. Seems this festival is happening soon which has made the town fill up a bit, just another reason for me to want to get out of here, not that I don't enjoy people, but I do miss my cottage and peaceful silence. We also got to meet an old friend of Kavash, Aluna, shifty eyes, but she can throw a dagger damn well. Funny for being Kavash friend she gives him almost the same sideway looks that Perri does. He must have put his hands where they didn't belong ,at least that's what I'm guessing. I did have a very enjoyable bath this evening but the look of surprize on Sorrins face when I said I wanted to join him and Atty for one was priceless .Now I haven't seen many men with most of their clothes off unless you count the time I surprised Old Walker in the river and at first I thought that maybe he was a changeling looking more fur covered than a bear, but to my great pleasure both Atty and Sorrin had very firm smooth skin nice to look at indeed. Well Sorrin just went upstairs to bed, I think maybe I'll have one more ale and head that way myself. By the time I returned to the room Sorrin was in bed,I did my nightly routine of washing my face ,saying a small prayer for the good day and slipped out of my clothes. Only difference I made instead of pulling my blanket to the side of the bed I climbed in with Sorrin instead. He gave me a startled look for a second but I think the kiss I gave him put his mind at ease............

So much has happened of late and I have so much time on my hands I decided to reflect on things my father taught me..........
Bow and arrow making as told by my father Jacob Dawnstar
Stave Selection:A bow stave is the raw material that that the bow is to be made from.In this case, the bow will be made from a dead, dry cedar. Bow wood has to be springy and tough.A finished bow must be able to withstand compression in the belly and be able to stretch along its back,so some woods are better than others.Good woods for the type of bow to be discussed here include cedar, hickory, sassafras and the other so-called white woods. When using yellow woods, such as mulberry,Osage orange or locust, the sap wood is usually removed down to a single growth ring of heart wood to create the back of the bow, a time consuming and tricky process, especially when tools are limited. The sapwood just under the bark becomes the back for a white wood bow,so using it simplifies the process, and speeds things up significantly. Some of the best trees for staves are those killed in a forest fire, but any dead cedar is a candidate for a bow such as this,as long as it is the right size and not cracked, rotten or insect ridden.Try to find a straight one with as few limbs as possible.Try to avoid large knots that will end up in the limbs.Choose a tree that is 2.5 inches in diameter in the handle section and a little taller than you are after cutting. The smallest end should be at least 1.5 inches in diameter.
Center Lining: Once the stave is cut, evaluat it by skinning the bark from the entire stave, taking care not to cut into the white wood underneath it. Small branches should be cut off just proud of the stave and rounded over later.Leave all bumps and knots intact.Hold your knife perpendicular and use it like a cabinet scraper to remove the bark,so as not to cut into the wood below.Look for cracks on the stave that may compromise the finished bow,Some cracks can be removed during manufacture, others cannot.Small ones running along the length of the stave will usually not present a problem. However,if there are wide ones or deep ones running perpendicular to where the back of the bow will be located, they could cause the bow to break when bent.Insect damage in the handle section usually won't matter. Next, locate the natural bend in the stave. You may be able to see it.If it is not self-evident,place one end on the ground, hold the opposite end and push down in the middle with your other hand to locate the natural bend, which will now be facing the ground. This bend should be followed when making the bow so that the outside of this bend becomes the back of the bow.Center line the stave on the outside of the bend with a piece of charcoal,or natural pigment.Sight down the centerline to make sure that the stave doesn't bend off to one side or the other. At this point, discard the stave if it has any of the flaws mentioned. If not, locate the handle section in the center of the stave.Mark the top and bottom of the handle all the way around. Finally, outline the bow limbs, using the center line as a reference.Draw them so that each will be about 0.75 inches wide, then taper to handle. Rough It Out:: The stave to be toughed out at this point. The greatest thing about this method is that nothing has to be done to the back of the bow.Do not remove any wood from the back(the side where the center line is located). It needs to remain intact so that the finished bow does not break when bent.In order to narrow the limbs on each side of the center line, follow the outline with your hatchet or knife.Start at the bottom of one each end of the stave,to avoid splitting out,and hew to the line, taking wood off of each side evenly.Be sure to keep everything lined up and as even as possible.Stop every now and then to check your work by sighting down the center line.Repeat this on the opposite end. After the rough outline of the bow has been established from the center line,it can be tillered(thinned)so that the limbs can bend evenly and do their work.Starting at one end, remove wood from the belly side of the limb until it is about 0.625 inches thick for about 8 inches from the end.Switch ends and repeat.Do not thin these end sections any further. Now the bottom of ech limb has been modified on three of its four sides for 8 inches of its length. Taking Shape:: Next, starting below the handle, gently taper the belly of the bow from the bottom of the handle to the top of the 8-inch section at the end of each limb.Be careful not to split wood off from the end. This can be done with the hatchet or knofe, but care must be taken not to cut to deeply.Keeo cuts as smooth as possible. You may want to work toward the handle at times.Take special care just below the handle so as not to remove too much wood, creating a weak spot.As you go,push down on the handle section from time to time as you did when orienting the stave,to check the strengh and eveness of the bends. This is called tillering.Be sure and flip the bow from time to timw,so you can check both limbs,Once things are close to bending evenly, use your knife again as a scraper to tiller and smooth the belly of the bow.Remember, the more wood you remove, the lighter the draw weight(amount of power, measured in pounds, needed to bring the bow to full draw)of the finished bow.The handle can now be shaped by removing wood from each side of the handle.Contour the grip to your hand with the hatchet and knife.Do not remove any wood from the back of the bow, only the sides of the handle section. The belly side of the handle can be further reduced and shaped if desired. Finally, blend in all the curves and lines by using your knoife as a scraper to smooth everything up.Take special care to smoothly round off all sharp edges to prevent splitting.Carefully round the edges of the back and belly.Carve in the nocks and the bow is ready for final tillering.Use some sand and a damp stick to smooth the inside of the nocks,This will reduce wear on the bow string. The Bow String::Your bow will only be as good as its string.A very serviceable bow string can be corded from dry dogbane fibers. An outstanding string can be made from spiral cut squirrel rawhide.Linen cordage can be bough for making bowstrings and will work if waxed but may have weak spots.
Making a Flemish Loop::
Step1:After cutting and separating the strands stagger the ends of each bundle so that they are about 1.5 inches apart Step2:Begin cording the two bundles together below the shortest stand. Step3:Form a loop just big enough to slide about 4 to 5 inches down the bow limb.Lay the staggered ends beside the long ends. Step4::Cord the bundles together. The importance of the staggered ends now becomes apparent. Step5::The flemish loop>Cord the rest of the string and tie an overhand knot in the opposite end.If one limb is a bit stiffer than the other,it should become the bottom limb since you will be shooting off the top of the grip,in effect making that limb longer.Place the flemish loop over the top limb and slide it down about 4 inches.Tie the other end off on the end of the lower limb with two half hitches. String The Bow::Assuming you are right handed, step between the bow and the string with your right foot leaving the string in front of your right leg and the handle behind the right knee. The left end of the bow(the end with two half hitches)should be in front of your left foot.Use both hands to pull the other end of the bow until you can push the loop up and slide it into the nocks. As a visual reference, your fist held vertically without the thumb extendednshould give you the fistmele,or proper distance, between the string and the handle of the bow.You can actually start with just the height of your fist and raise it more later on.If the string is too tight, causing the string to be above fist heoght, stop and retie the string, making it a little longer.Go slowly when stringing for the first time and don't overstress the bow.Once you get the string on it,you will want to evaluate how it is bending and prehaphs do further tillering. You may not even be able to string the bow at first. If not,it may still be too stout and more tillering will need to be done,The bow can be made weaker by removing more wood from the belly of each limb.Use your knife as a scrapper, proceed slowly and check often.Continue to floor tiller until you feel you can get the string on the bow. Fitting::Once the string is on,lay the bow on the ground and check for evenness of bends and stiff or weak spots in the limbs.Mark either side of any weak spots, remove the string, scrape wood off at the location of the marks, replace the string and check again.Put your marks directly on stiff spots, remove the string.scrape these down, replace the string and check.Do this until the bow is bending evenly and is at the proper draw weight.Do not remove too much wood, especally just above and below the handle.remember that most od the bending of each limb should occur between the handle and the stiff section above the nock.Thses bends should be as even as possible. If weak spots have been created, they must be evened out.remove wood from either side od the weak spot and check the bend again. If the bow ends up being toioi weak,it can be strengthened by shortening each limb and then re-cutting the nocks. If everything looks good, give the bow a final scraping. If fine sand is available,a piece of cloth or leather can be dampened, dipped in sand and used as sandpaper.Clean off the sand, and if grease or fat is available, rub down the wood with the grease. To break in the bow, slowly pull it to half draw about 25 or 30 times,Finally repeat at full draw.Never release the bow without an arrow nocked, and always unstring it when not in use. ARROWS: Materials needed include Pine pitch from knots of pine trees, hardwood suckers, reeds or bamboo shafting material, sinew, charcoal, feathers.Tips can be bought from a weapon smith. Make sure when your looking for shafts pick limbs that are as straight as possible and the right length and flexible.Sinew is used for binding on fletches. Its made from the tendons of animals so make sure this is as fresh as possible.

:patchwall 27:: Day before the festival ,Sorrin and I went down to break fast .We had discussed talking to Atty about that cave he found so we ate till he came downstairs.Once he did he was more than happy to have us join him since he was planning to camp outside the walls of town, Sorrin and I gathered our gear and joined him,the town really has been crowded and Ferrel hates it as much as Atty does.We set up camp in the woods close to where Atty thought the cave was but he was still tired from his magic use and needed to rest and pray,so we decided to wait till morning after a good nights rest.I built a fire and set up a tent, Atty set up his own tent and after eating a few rations went to sleep. I took first watch with Ferrel. The evening started off quiet but then Ferrels' ears perked up and he stood in stance his head lowered, Someone or something was near our camp.I focused where he was looking and a saw a shadowed figure that appeared humanoid. They paused watching and then seemed to move on, as Ferrel laid back down no longer concerned.I took care to watch the camp more carefully till my watch ended.I woke Sorrin after my watch and told him what happened,as I went to sleep I made sure Ferrel stayed with him for extra eyes and ears. In the morning I headed out with Ferrel to see if I could find any tracks where I saw our visitor.Sure enough small booted tracks were there.Against my better judgement I followed them, keeping as quiet and stealthful as was possible.Ferrel made a warning growl,I smelled smoke,we entered an open area and there was a campsite but the scene around it was a nightmare. After taking a closer look I realized it was the vagrants we had seen a few weeks ago or at least what was left of them. Ferrel growled then whined and backed away not wanting to go anywhere near the bodies. This was unusual behavior for him,he was young but not afraid of signs of a fight, whatever did this had to be unnatural for him to re-act that way. Looks of horror was on the faces of those poor bastards,I could not tell whether the wounds were from weapon or animal ,but I didn't notice any bites or claw marks and our visitors tracks were everywhere. I headed back to our camp and relayed my findings to Sorrin and Atty, Sorrin wanted to see the scene so I lead them back to it. After once again seeing the mess,Atty retrieved two daggers and a rusty short sword,Sorrin picked up three wines skins, be damned if my lips are going near those bloodied things.I searched the outskirts of their camp and once again found the small tracks heading NE. General opinion was to follow them and low and behold Attys mysterious cave. We were maybe 50 yards from it and Ferrel did not wish to go closer.Sorrin was adamite about venturing closer ,thats when I Flat out said no. Not only was I not putting my wolf in danger, but I had both Sorrins well being and Attys to to be concerned with.Sorrin must have seen the determination on my face because he didn't argue with me further and we headed back.Atty attempted to speak to a gaggle of racoons, I almost laughed at that, but that would have been impolite. The coon he spoke to just said ,cave bad, bodies and bones of animals ,bad cave.Well that pretty much says a lot about what racoons think about, besides being small petty thieves and being concerned with food, danger would be first on their list. We headed back to town after breaking camp. On our way back to town a mounted cavalry person rode towards us at a fast pace, sword in the air,we all stepped out of their path but they didn't seem to even notice we were there. We did notice they wore a standard ,a blue field with a yellow castle and three white flowers .Have to remember to ask in town about this. We headed back to town to seek out Kavash but ran into some of our comrades first, after asking if they had seen Kavash ,we headed further into the beginnings of the festival. Finally found the reeve and told him what I had seen, as usual all he wanted to do is argue with me about how unimportant anything we did was unless he instructed it,I swear how this puffed up arrogant ass has made it to his present age without someone taking him out still surprises me.He acted like these people who he has repeatedly said were here to protect could wait if it interfered with his personal agenda .He also treated Atty with disdain trying to humiliate him because he was so much older and wiser than any of us. Woe to him the first time he does that to me. I have to get Sorrin to rethink our staying here or at least tell Kavash that if no coin comes our way he can forget ever telling us how to proceed.Truth be told he's a gloried politician not an adventurer and hes not even a very good politician.Oh well let him dig his own grave but I will be happy to supply him with a shovel. After that waste of energy Sorrin and I went to enjoy the festival. I did my best to hide my frustration but I was highly agitated by Kavash. We watched the knife throwing contest, to my pleasure Aluna won. That woman can really throw a dagger. I participated in the archery contest but was not at my best, still peeved at Kavash and his assimile behavior. Broke a bow string so now I have that to replace that, good thing I have a few spares. Next we went to watch the strong man contest, but instead we watched the wagon for Bjorn so he could enter. We sipped an ale and made him some coin. When he returned he was with the winner ,John Carpenter, Suddenly Sorrin felt weak and looked pale, I would have blamed the ale but I felt fine.Aluna told me to get Sorrin away from Frank but I didn't understand why until we were on our way to the Squid and heard about these stones of corin that drain magic users of both power and life.We ended up at the Squid and heard from Atty that he and Perri also both suffered from this drain. If these stones are what Kavash is after he better think twice if he thinks I am allowing any of our magic users anywhere near them without a guarantee of shielding. Besides he's the big bad older more experienced leader let him go alone and deal with this shit.No way am I letting Sorrin be injured or killed due to his folly.

Secrets and lies:
Back at the Squid with Atty,Sorrin and Perri. All three of them look rather pale what has happened is beyond my understanding.Atty spoke of this corinstone and the fact that it negates magic.Perhaps this explains the drain on our magic users. Perri again mentions how she feels Kavash and Aluna are keeping secrets from us.This may be just an opinion or perhaps she wishes one of us to seek out the truth in the matter, I could see her position in our group preventing her from pushing the issue.None the less I understand her feelings as Sorrin and I both have felt we are being kept in the dark about a lot. Even our other companions have yet to come clean with answers except vague ones.Only Atty has told me a bit about their adventuring and he sometimes seems confused as to all that has happened to them. Oh by the stars Perri has started a conversation about love. She says she is saving her vertues for true love, noble enough, after all my parents had this and it worked well for them.Sorrin smirked a bit and Perri questioned him if he believes in true love, this caught my attention, but he only surmised that he didn't believe in love at first sight and has not yet found true love.Hmmm,I guess our relationship is as casual as it started.Perhaps I should better shy from this familiarity with him before my heart gets crushed. My lost of contact with his thoughts made me jump into his bed to be close to him again I must be more careful. Now she is speaking to Atty ,silly druid, well he does have a one track mind, apparently he finds animals more acceptable company than people ,wow that would make for a strange love life.I don't even want to know.Ah crap she has turned her attentions to me ,no questions but said she finds me noble in my actions, that made me smile, I hope I can continue to live up to that praise.Moji walks in hungry as usual I give him my uneaten portion of food my appetite has gone sour. Kavash showed up and he and I went after Sorrins cow so he could sell it to the inn keeper, damn thing wandered off but we did finally find it grazing in a field. I put it in the stable by the inn.Kavash asked about the deaths, about damn time that became important. We decide to travel to the north forest in the morning. I wake and restring my bow and head down to breakfast. The rest of the party is doing the same.We find the camp but it has been altered by scaventures .We decide to head to the cave. We head to the cave and it seems to be about the same,Kavash our noble(snicker snicker) leader pretty much orders the others to head in of course Moji and Letay are more than willing to do so and needed no prodding, I followed behind Kavash . The cave floor is scattered with bones ,mostly old ones, then as we go further in a tunnel with rocks and stones hardly trackable at this point. We come to a point with two tunnels we take the furthest from us and come to a dead end. Strange wall here doesn't seem natural ,to smoothe, but try as we can we notice no way through. We head back to the other tunnel .Aluna goes down by herself with Moji watching her back, he seems to care a lot about her safety. He's a good companion and a loyal friend to her it seems.Aluna finds a piece of cloth with what seems eleven writing on it. I am not familiar with the dialect but some of the letters look familiar, like in my grandfathers study.Wish I had learned to read more than common. We also found another blank wall and an abandoned camp site and even stranger carbon black,Moji and Aluna agreed it is used to dull blades so they don't reflect light, an old assassins trick. At this point while we examine the wall again, Atty goes back to check on the animals but returns rather quickly and says he saw two cloaked figures in the woods by the opening of the cave.We head that way. Kavash asks me to track them and I do, small prints again, but only one set not two as Atty reported. Either we are being led or the other mystery person is highly skilled at moving unseen. The tracks end abruptly, I get a shiver up my spine and my mind screams trap, try as I might no more tracks are visible which I tell Kavash. Those that can do a quick sweep of our surroundings and stay on guard. As we move back a female voice is heard.A slim Elven woman steps into view. She starts speaking directing her words to Kavash. He asks her several things and then a look of surprise crosses his face. They speak in an unknown eleven dialect so the rest of us just stand there in bewilderment. Their conversation gets heated and I can tell the woman is very upset by her body language and hand gestures. Kavash looks flustrated and even more so when a very handsome tall male elf steps from the shadows and says something that has the female snap a command at him and he steps down. This also makes Kavash defensive. This goes on for awhile till Kavash points to Aluna and Moji and then insists that they speak in common. She seems to agree but not before saying a few more things that again makes Kavash upset. I can only imagine what is being said but seeing how Kavash is with women of all races I am sure the story is way beyond anything I can make up. Once we start speaking common several things we had no clue about come to light. She asks if any of us had traveled to the land of the dead.Several of them had, we knew of this but when we were told the story was vague and even those telling us were unsure what really happened. She turned to LaTey after asking about the ship of the phoenix but she apparently spoke in his native tongue since we didn't understand it. Her name was Rosenstrause ,a grey elf,and from Kavash's lands.Big Tall and handsome was her bodyguard. No wonder Kavash was pissy. Oh yeah and the best she was Kavash's fiance. Yup I couldn't make this shit up even if I wish I did. She spoke of the doors opening ,Kavash told her he had a book to open them and somehow mentioned his red curse on his chest . She was taken back by this and then .......wait for it .......Called him The Blood Elf, The harvester of Death. Oh that's not scary at all but does seem like something Kavash would put his big over blown ego into. Then the best part of the whole day, Kavash told us how he got cursed. He screwed a virgin maid on consecrated ground.O.O Yeah that was my face too.How that poor woman bit back her pried and spoke calmly after that tidbit was very noble indeed. I don't don't understand much about arranged eleven marriages but I do know that they take vows very seriously and here he was telling her in front of people who were strangers to her, that he not only did this but had a very hard time ever saying no to any woman when sex was involved. She was even giving him a out by asking if he was bewitched,or if he killed someone there, but nope he told her his base most non elven trait was screwing anyone who said yes. O.O Yup that was my face again and I was not not alone except for the occasional laugh or snicker. The conversation moved on as Kavash stumbled through his words to change it ,voicing all the good he was trying to do so he could change his ways.Rosenstrause was not moved by this she saw his leaving their lands as a betrayal to his own people and to her.Her body guard told us he broke his vow by leaving and was an outlaw on the run. He talked about the corin stone and how everyone with magic gets sick from it. Rose mentions that there is not enough stone to close the doors and that they were there to stop the dwarves from delivering it . She was told that ship had sailed weeks ago. Now I am getting pissed, maybe if mr I am so high and mighty had even once mentioned some of these details we could be working on a plan to help this town prepare for war better.Better defence at the docks, the walls, the beach. Oh yeah and even better she tells us that Sword Rulers are coming, a fleet of them and that the Gallows{otherwise known as the citadel of the pirates} has been destroyed by them.Personally I think were screwed. Why were we not told about these sword rulers? Kavash tells her he believes Count Waverly is involved, she insists he isn't and says he's trying to stop the sword rulers and her and her guard take off through the woods to his home.We head back to our animals but get stopped by the biggest bear I have even seen , its been in a fight and is roaring and seems really pissed .As we all re-act to defend ourselves 5 man sized raccoons show up behind it. Sorrin does something and the bear drops dead on the spot. I look at him in shock, What the hell? He just grins ,he has been full of surprises but that one was impressive. Atty entangles the coons and we quickly pick them off.Atty is a bit upset that they died without first trying to help them.I tried to comfort his fears by telling him that the beasts were unnatural and suffering and it was better to release their souls from being tainted somehow.I don't think that really eased his thoughts. We headed once again to the Counts house. When we get there the scene is one of a bad dream, fire engulfs the main house ,servants and soldiers alike are scattered on the lawn .Atty, Aluna and I search for anyone living .Atty finds one man who is alive but barely. As he tends to him a armored Knight steps out of the flames of the manner house. (yeah that's not scary at all) he casts a spell (a clear indication that there is no corin stone here but some are still to dumb to see that but I get ahead of myself) Some are affected but not all and those that are seem to be crucified, definitely a priest spell, very powerful one at that.No matter what we throw at him its for not, our weapons and spells have no effect. He seems to almost laugh at our pitiful attempts and simply walks back into the flames.

ESP.40
We pretty much lick our wounds for lack of a better statement and proceed to gather the dead, Aluna and Moji look for tools in some of the outer buildings to dig with and come back with a shovel and two hoes. It takes time that we really do not have but of course Kavash is all about wasting precious time better spent, with meaningless tasks.A better thing to have done was get back to town inform the mayor and send a few farmers to tend to the their dead while we informed the people about death coming their way, but once again Kasvash gets his way.
Sorrin questions Kavash about the knight in the fire.Kavash makes a stupid remark about Aluna and Perri pops him in the head.I missed the remark but I am guessing it wasn't flattering. I chuckle, about time someone tries to knock some brains into that oaf but next time she should use something harder like Moji's Ax. We continue back to town.
Heading down the road there is old rag wearing man standing there telling us we shall not pass (I know what your thinking but its just a crazy druid) He talks to Atty who calls him master, okay now I can understand why Atty always seems so confused about people and animals and their worth in being alive. He belongs to a coven of mad Druids.(by mad I mean very angry and non caring about real people in the scheme of the wheel of life.He insists on teaching Atty a lesson about killing animals when he should have saved them despite his instinct to save his companions as their lives are secondary to those of the wild beasts. If I got it right the old druid would have been happier if Atty couldn't control the bear and he ate or injured us all as that would have been his right as a bear.See as I said Crazy Druid Clan. Then he wanted Sorrin and Atty to have a fist fight because Sorrin killed the bear and Atty didn't stop him or something like that, teaching Atty a lesson on humility ( you see crazy and meaningless)
Sorrin agreed but what he did was priceless ,He let Atty hit him, several times without fighting back(Bravo Sorrin) when he asked the old fart if he was satisfied he said yes and Sorrin said good then its over. The old man was really pissed about this as Sorrin had tricked him by his own words ,he cursed and stomped around a bit but finally let it go with a warning to Atty that he may not receive help in the future from his god.I told him maybe it was time to pray to a new god and that Corellin was a much kinder God of the forest, nature and all life.He said he would think on it.
Oh excitement wasn't over yet so hold on to your leathers ,a farmer on the road came running to us yelling something about crazy people in his house. (excitement never stops in this backward city)We head there to find two wounded people who appear to be wearing the counts colors .They were wounded in their hands and feet apparently victims of the knight's magic and Kavash paid Perri to heal them. We took them back to town to family they had there along with the injured man who also had family in town.
We finish getting them to their families and Kavash goes to the mayors house to inform him about the Count. We find out that the counts wife was with child and apparently this was why he left so quickly from the festival.A Lord Stilton shows up and Aluna vanishes rather quickly. The mayor tells Stilton everything is okay and we head to the inn. Kavash thanks us all for the help and we discuss this sword ruler mess. Kavash is vague as usual and asks Moji and Aluna to speak outside. Great more secrets ,this is getting tiresome .Sorrin wants to leave now ,I am for that idea, this place sucks and the misdirection of our companions is starting to piss me off.How do you have the nerve to ask someone for help and not tell them what their fighting? My father used to say "Do not be impressed by, wealth, braggarts,or knowledge. Be impressed by kindness, integrity, humility and loyalty." Most in our group have these qualities in one way or another towards some, one has none or at least way he is one sided and self serving when using them.
Aluna and Moji return from outside without Kavash. We tell them were tired of the bullshit and want to know what the hell is going on. They agree but want to take the conversation in private where unwanted attention will be had ,which tells me we are being watched. We head to Perri's room and Aluna and Moji tell us things Kavash should have told us from the beginning of this mess.Lord Stilton is actually Lord Mushgrave, Aluna's uncle ,and his Lady is actually a fem fetal or master assassin. Holy stars and bad judgement on joining this bunch .Of course if we had more information from the start we could have prepared for this crap better. I understand they didn't know who they could trust but it's not like we were not trying to help or screwing up their plans in anyway. Trust between comrades people!!! We have been laying our lives on the line for them without really questioning what they were doing, maybe dumb on our part but Sorrin needed to know what was going on.Moji then tells us a bit about the sword rulers how they have a huge army and are taking over many lands by sheer numbers and absolute rule. They justify their rule as absolute, and their rule is conform or die,and punishment for any law breaking no matter how trivial is death.Absolute rule ,haha ,sounds like Kavash, do as I say without knowing whats going on or I don't need you here. They have taken over the mine with the corin stone and pretty much have over run the dwarven lands there. The Dwarfs love for gold outweighs their love of freedom is seems.
We told them that there was no way we as magic users could go there, as well as Perri and Atty. It would be death for them and unfortunately I would never leave Sorrin alone to get to safety ,my life is bound to his fate and I would do my best to my last breathe to see him to safety. After all this talking Atty's attitude around me changed, he seemed to wish to stay with Sorrin and I no matter what.Self preservation most likely ,at least he was thinking straight.
Perri wished to freshen up and chased all the men out and downstairs, she wanted Aluna and I to stay, we did of course. She insisted on fixing us up ,we didn't fight it as it seemed to please her so much. I looked in the hand mirror she had and it was almost like looking into my mother's face, she always looked so lovely and regal even though she was just a ranger's wife.Aluna looked pretty damn good too.
The newly revised ladies head downstairs to dinner. We start to eat and Perri asks Atty ,Sorrin and Latay ,"don't you think Alandia and Aluna look lovely this evening" .I am sure I blushed but I can't say I wasn't interested in the answers. Atty smiled at me, Latay said yes very nice, and Sorrin to my pleasure, said Alandia has always looks beautiful to me. Kavash still hadn't shown up and by the talk no one had seen him.Aluna on a whim bought a gallon of bourbon and said we all needed a drink.I had never had it before but what the hell it was a rough day.By the second drink I felt a wee bit tipsy but it did make me smile more. After the third and fourth I still felt fine but Aluna passed out. Moji was going to carry her to Byorn's house but Perri said no way and had him carry her to her room and let Moji sleep on the floor to keep watch over them. Sorrin and I headed upstairs ourselves ,he got into bed and I slipped in next to him as had become our routine of late. I slept deeply until Sorrin woke with a start in the morning. He told me he had a strange dream. I didn't question him anymore about it ,if and when he figured it out he would tell me.
We headed downstairs ,I was famished. I didn't know drinking this bourbon stuff made you so hungry.I wolfed down my breakfast, Ferrel was looking at me like I really was a greedy wolf,so as Sorrin was sitting there in his own world with a wrinkled brow I ate his bacon too and shared a bit with ferrel.Atty has the bad taste to make a crude remark when Perri and Aluna come downstairs about women sleeping together, good heavens they been sharing a bed from weeks now and it's been well established that neither of them were interested in anything but men. Atty needed one of Perri's smacks to the brainpan. Perri didn't get it thank the gods, and we all tried to change the subject.Although Atty got scolding looks froms Aluna and I .
Sorrin wanted to head to the docks this morning and Atty asked to go with us.Aluna ,and Moji went looking for Kavash and LaTay had business at the merchants.Lots of fishermen at the docks and along the beach the women were doing their wash , a few fishing vessels but no signs of large ships or a fleet. When we leave the docks we run into Moji we ask around for Kasvash finally ending up at the North Gate and are told the reeve headed out on horseback this morning. Figures we need to get the hell out of town before we get stuck and he's out wasting more of our time with useless crap more than likely.
Aluna and I go back to the beach with Perri to help her wash her clothes, Moji makes a spectacle of himself by stripping down and taking a bath in the ocean.Although it was a somewhat funny the fool did almost get arrested for indecent exposure . Of course there was this one older woman who must have liked what she saw cause she invited him for a drink on her, I think maybe a drink wasn't the only thing she was expecting, and Moji heard free booze and was off to the Whale's Tail. We all headed to the Squid to pack.
We were waiting discussing our departure and Kavash finally showed up of course he said no way he was leaving and he thought we were foolish to try. He had spent the morning wasting his time looking for corin stone that wasn't there and his soon to be wife who also was smart enough to leave or maybe she too died in the fire ,I guess we may never know.Sorrin and I told him we were leaving and he told us we were stupid and ranted on about how much smarter he was and how he had been fighting these sword rulers a long time and how the only choice anybody had was either to convert to their ways or die.Of course they would kill all the elves and magic users first, probably enslave the others.I told him we were leaving and I didn't really trust him anymore that he had kept to many important things from us, he argued with me about the sword rulers being at the pirates stronghold and I told him that his wife to be said that the Galley was destroyed and lost.He said he didn't trust anything Rosenstrause said and we shouldn't trust Aluna either cause she lies more than anyone there.I was appalled ,he would turn on his companions that he has been traveling with a long time ,good god I am sure he would gladly turn Sorrin and I over without blinking if we tried to interfere with any of his plans for this group. He smugly told me my services were no longer needed and I was free to go my own way. I laughed at that and informed him I worked for Sorrin not him ,never did,and damn straight I was leaving.
He could burn in his own personal hell for all I cared the arrogant bastard.Kavash needs a strong lesson learned ,trust is earned not freely given, he has done nothing to instill this in Sorrin and I or to his other companions as far as I have seen.It wouldn't even surprise me that he does what he can to delay our leaving or that of the group to ensure our capture or delay his so he once again escape on the run unharmed while his group pay the cost.
As we were getting ready to go Lord Mushgrave stepped in with his woman and asked to sit down, Kavash the suck up greeted him like an old friend,he asked may I join you, and made a remark to his companion my my what a pickle they seem to have gotten themselves into.Aluna spoke up ."here comes the deal" to which he replied "My dear Niece you know me so well...................

patchwall 41: Have you ever heard that old saying be careful what you wish for ? Well I am so there right now.Standing at the docks with Sorrin watching the animals while Moji goes and gets his cart. Kalvash has finally opened up about a lot of things that would have been useful to know weeks ago, maybe we could have made better choices in what we're doing instead of last minute running.Maybe we would be home right now regrouping this mission of Sorrin's. After talking to the High Priest at the Temple, I was a bit flabbergasted, by all the gods, do any of these people think about what they are doing ? Do they actually make plans or has it been willy nilly flip a coin then make a decision.Oh yeah and now we know that most of the party has died at least once and was brought back to life by the Phoenix ship.Yup you read that right, is it just me or do you find that very unnatural. Wondering if I should be wearing a metal neck cover at night in case some of them get the taste for blood. Oh yeah and the only reason we have a way out of town right now is because the ship Kalvash hired for us to travel on also had Musgrave paid them lots of coins to travel the same way along with his fem-fatal who gave Sorrin a bag of tiny swords that are like the daggers in his dream to play with. Not Ominous at all. Yeah this trip just may make me start thinking that a nice quiet home with a husband and children isn't a bad thing. Well at least that would make mom happy.

patchwall 42: At the docks with Sorrin ,Atty and Aluna. We decide to stay on the beach for the night since the ship is leaving at first light. Atty heads towards town to let LaTey and Perri know what's going on. Sorrin gathers wood for a fire and I help him .We hear fifth bell and see Moji coming back. He drives his wagon on to the beach and it gets stuck in the sand. He then goes on the ship and I start a fire for the company. When Moji returns he asks what we're doing and we all say we're staying the night on the beach. He stays with us after awhile I tell him it would be best for Jackass to be unfettered to the wagon and he does so. Perri ,LaTey and atty return and we get comfortable around the fire while Sorrin plays his flute. Atty surprises me by asking if he can try something on Ferrel. I tell him as long as it doesn't harm him I don't mind and I doubt he will either. I smile when I realize he's talking to Ferrel in wolf. Afterwards Atty tells me that he really loves me and that he sees me as his pack along with him and Sorrin, the other too but not as much. Ferrel sniffs my pack so I give him some jerky and rub his head and smile at his faithfulness to me. Perri seems to enjoy the campfire chat and LaTey tells us all his story .It seems he was told by a wise person of his people that he would one day be a great leader of his own clan. Sounds about right LaTey has always seemed very honorable to me in his manners and acts. Perri then once again turns her attentions to me and Sorrin and asks me if we're a couple . I chuckel a bit and tell her vaguely that we grew up together so naturally i have feelings for him , he's my best human friend and I love him in my own way. She asks if I love him like a brother , I say not really . I move off that subject since I know Sorrin , and he wouldn't speak of our relationship to others , its private and it's staying that way.Moji gets a massage from Perri , that's Perri always looking for coin to make. Atty asks Sorrin about his abilities and Sorrin just tells him he wouldn't understand. We all relaxed and then that stupid fallen Druid appears again shouting that he will not allow us to take our animals to their deaths. I pretty much tell him to fuck off and that Ferrel has free will to do as he pleases, but I seriously doubt that Ferrel would ever trust that shit head. As I see things he may still be responsible for that poor bear and the raccoons tainted state so why would I trust him in anything he said. He talks to Ferrel and he stays by me . Smart wolf. But Moji's dog and jackass go with the druid. Stupid mules. We all go to sleep from sheer exhaustion and wake to find our animals gone. We see Kalvash and tell him about the shit headed druid stealing our animals and the asshole shows up. Atty talks to Ferrel again and he tells me that the druid said he will die if he goes with me, but Ferrel would rather die with me than not be with his pack mother. we all head onto the ship for good or ill. They show us our rooms and tell us the rules. We see Kalvash and low and behold the Musgraves on the wall of Gomenit. When those slippery asses slipped off the ship is beyond me since we all saw them head up the gang plank the day before. Not to far from shore we run into 4 ships that hail us and insist on boarding. Military men get on the ship and insist on checking all our gear. To make a long story short they find the small daggers that were given to Sorrin and accuse us of being spies for the sword rulers ,threaten us all , take our weapons and lock us up on their ship. Next thing we know the kraken attacks and pretty much destroys the ship were on and we all go down into the ocean. LaTey gets the feather out and prays to his god and as we all take our last breathe we're on the deck of the Phoenix ship. No the Gods don't interfere at all anymore. We get orientated then notice a human man on the ship also. He asks who we are and introduces himself as Leto ,a merchant sailor. We end up on a rocky shore with a dark castle on it and of course we head there into the scary place, why not we already died what could happen now that would be worse. Please don't ask it was a rhetorical question. By entering this place we went through a lot of doors ,found a room with swords ,strange young man with a crown that walked through us (yep still dead) Moji touch one and got really sick, but how you can get worse that dead is beyond my understanding. Then we get transported into a weird time thing seeing apparent history of things passed which ends at Gallows End and the destruction of it by the sword rulers. I then hear a voice in my head that asks me where my destination , I think of a place that Sorrin always said he would take me, his home island and I am suddenly there with him on a beach. We talk then he gets that far away look in his eyes again ,I get a bad feeling and then wake on a carpeted floor feeling like someone put me through a meat grinder. There's a lot of confusion then we get shuffled off into another room that appears to be a chapel and we see Moji and the head human is someone called The Oracle. He talks to us all ,I am still foggy so I catch bits and pieces and I hurt like hell. What I do get out of it is he is giving us a place to rest(even if it is in a stable) and food .He talks about the sword rulers but I could give a shit at this point, I just want to sleep. I do catch that we are a day from Grey Hawk so at least I can get home from here. Rest first then that's where I am heading, check on my brother get rest ,food, clothes and weapons I know are there and safe. I am sure Sorrin will come with me since his sister doesn't live to far from there.

Readyread-4-5-6
Headed home to my cottage today.Atty asked Sorrin and I if he could come along ,as it turns out he lived somewhere out here before he ended up in Gomenit. Of course I told him it was fine, he's a sweet and kind hearted soul even if he has been blind to my affections for him. Oh well pretty much water under the bridge there as Sorrin and I have gotten closer. We walked till dusk and made camp ,Sorrin made a fire with one of his psion tricks, still miss our thoughts being joined ,things were simpler then.We huddled close since it was cold but not soon after we were settling down to sleep our other companions showed up cold and apparently not being able to make one for themselves. Only Byron wasn't with them. I sometimes think about what ever happened to Perri ,If her god was true to her then perhaps she is safe and well. I know she wasn't on the phoenix ship with us. Next morning we parted ways with Moji,Aluna and Leto and agreed to meet them in a few days at the Blue Bolt Inn. We arrived at my cottage safely and it was so good to see it. I always loved living here it was a small stone structure with small shuttered windows made close to the ceiling to allow air to move through the house in summer and keep the cold out in the winter. We had one horse but by the looks of it old Sam was gone, Malic more than likely took him when he left. The chickens were gone to but as they were not caged more than likely a predator got them or chased them off.Mom and Dad slept in the loft and Malic and I had beds downstairs on either side of the home. The downstairs was basically one big common room around the fireplace and table.I was happy to see the root cellar was still stocked and the garden still had a few vegetables that weren't eaten by birds or rabbits. My first thought was a bath so Sorrin made a fire and I got busy at the well gathering water to heat. I sent Atty outside to get a few vegetables from the garden so I could have at least a bit of privacy to bathe although at this point I was so sore and bruised I really didn't care.I checked father's chest and his bow and sword were there along with a few daggers. His leathers were also there but they were too big for me ,Sorrin might be able to use them. I settled for one of mother's dresses . I had a few pairs of older boots around so my feet were covered. Atty and Sorrin helped themselves to my brothers clothes ,Sorrin could wear some of his newer stuff, but Atty being thinner could easily wear stuff from his younger years. Sleep after a good hot meal ,I slept like the dead, But I did notice that Sorrin was very quiet ,it had become our habit since we couldn't mind speak anymore to talk quietly before going to sleep. Maybe he just knew how tired I was and he probably was to.Next morning after Atty said his prayers and we had breakfast, we heard a ruckus outside and something clawed at the sides of the cottage. There were some bears around or it could be any number of other predators ,I'd seen some big cats near the mountains. I saw no tracks outside but then I really didn't look very hard since I was so happy to be home. Well it did end up being a mountain cat ,a male ,which explains the chickens being gone.Damn his territory has to be close to here and I can see him coming out of the hills to hunt since it's gotten colder. Must not have a mate or we'd be dealing with her, since it's the females who hunt when not with cubs. After Sorrin got swiped by a claw ,I managed to calm him and threw out some venison ,probably not the best idea since he might now expect it when his hunting doesn't go well but so much for after thought. Atty bespelled him and then talked to him. Apparently they are now companions but the cat doesn't want to be around any except Atty or his mate so Atty has decided to go off on his own from here. I respectfully asked Atty to take him as far away from my cabin as possible because I couldn't vouch for what my brother may do to a wild cat so close to here, after a quick kiss and hug ,I wished him luck and told him to keep him fed ,hate to see him eaten by his own cat. After Atty left Sorrin and I headed to GreyHawk to see his sister and meet the group. Sorrin carried my bow and sword and I just kept a dagger on my belt .I have to get used to wearing dresses till I can get some new leathers.Sorrin was still so quiet I just had to ask him what was up. He stumbled in his words and I could tell he was uncomfortable talking out loud about us, so I just stopped him and said ::"You know when I was taking my last breathe in that cage under the water,I was really sad ,I had lost Ferrel and now I was losing you.I realized that you could easily save yourself by breathing under the water till you swam to the surface. Then I awoke on the Phoenix ship and there you were. It was then I realized that you were not only my best friend but that you loved me more than living without me.And as far as Atty went he cared more for Ferrel than he ever looked at me like a woman. That's the kind of love my parents had ,it didn't matter to them that they wouldn't have much time together it was that they would have unconditional love the whole time they were . Your the most important thing in my life and I want to spend each moment of it from here to when one us does part from life living together, no matter where that is.
