With the winter waging war on the city of Greyhawk Durant decided to take this time to do some soul searching. The god he has always felt in tune with is Agir, the sea god. After all Durant has carried Agir’s trident for many moons once upon a time. The cave he returned the trident to down on the southern coast near Warisht. Durant discusses with Percival, Aluna, and Lucian of his plans and they agree to wait for his return. Durant takes one weeks’ worth of rations and two water skins given to him by Lucian.
From the room where they had the discussion Durant thinks of the cave and the alter to Agir and transmutes time and space so that he appears in the cave at the same time as he disappears from the room at the inn.
As Durant vanishes with an audible pop, a warm breeze and the smell of salty sea air waft from where he once stood. Percival looked on wondering just what the difference was between what Durant called his mind magic and what Percival knows is magic. Lucian’s mouth drops open again with awe over this ability to teleport as Durant calls it. Aluna thinks how incredibly useful this could, would be to help further her gains.
As Durant steps from his place of teleport the cold air surrounding him quickly dissipates, the smell of the ocean air brings back memories, life seemed simpler back then. As he looked around the cave looked the same. A ray of sunshine coming in through a hole in the rocks in the caves celling, the ocean waves coming in across the breakers and washing up on the sandy beach inside the cave, a small crab quickly walks back into the sea water.
Durant disrobes his heavier warmer clothing and cloak and sets down his backpack and gear he brought with him. He collected some dry driftwood for making a fire later when the night air would become cooler.
Dressed in just his britches and an open shirt he knees down near the water and begins to prey.
“My Lord Agir, I have been away far too long. My escape from the tower seems to have cancelled the contract between the Norse Gods and the Sword Rules that was keeping the Norse gods from the Renalse lands. I hope this pleases you my lord for now your guidance can resume through out the lands. As I’m sure you are aware I have committed some atrocities while being trapped within the tower. I thought I was doing the right thing, but it seems I was in great error. I am on a great pilgrimage to find the part of my soul that I lost and became tainted with evil due to my actions. As I am being hunted by the Sword Rules I am leaving known lands to soul search. I can no longer do the good that my avatar Arztie did, so I must seek out other ways to right my inner being.”
“I seek your guidance Agir, my lord. There must be something else I can do to serve you that will help to renew me.”
These prayers continue for eight days only taking breaks to eat and sleep. Once per day he also takes a dip in the serf and starts a fire each night to stay warm also checking to see what the weather conditions are like back in Greyhawk using his mind to look upon the outside of the inn his friends are staying in. Durant is hopeful that some sign will guide him and his soul in the right direction.
After his food and water supplies are dangerously close to running out and the weather seems better in Greyhawk, he will teleport back to his room at the inn.
