Durant -
Durant is from an island country called Lavinnya more then 4000 klek's southeast of Warisht and the Great Land.
Lavinnyan's never left their string of islands for the main land except on a few rare occasions.
It is believed that the Great Land is inhabited by beings that are lower on the evolutionary ladder than that of Lavinnyan's, and are so called Mundane's.
At a young age, all Lavinnyan's learn to use their mental capacity to the fullest of their abilities. Each girl learns to control the weather and animals, while the boys learn to manipulate and change the form of objects.
This ability comes naturally to all Lavinnyan's. Those who live on the main land are called Mundane's because they lack this mental ability.
All life on Lavinnya is named and first names are used only, thus the numbers following everyone's name is where they fall in the line of history.
There are four main creatures on Lavinnya, Human's, Daulphins, Couatl, and Pixies. Over a hundred years all have learned to live together in peace.
The common currency used on Lavinnya is shells; there are six different types and each have a distinctive mark that relates to there worth.
Round shells have a blue inside and equal 1 gold, yellow equals silver, green equals copper, and this spiral shell with pink inside equals 10 gold, this blue spiral equals 20 gold, and this red spiral equals 50 gold.
Once, about 6 years ago, a large ship drifted into one of our harbors, the ship was ravaged by a storm at sea and there where no signs of life onboard.
This was Durant's first opportunity to see something from the Great Land and he was just simply amused by the size and engineering skill that had to have been used to create such a marvel.
Ever since that ship was found and for the next two years, all Durant could think about was seeing what else was waiting for him on the land of the Mundane's. He asked for permission to sail to the Great Land but was told that the Great Land was not a place for our people and that we would be enslaved because the Mundane's would not understand our mental abilities.
One night about two months later, Durant could not wait anymore and decided to venture out to the Great Land by himself and without anyone knowing, he set off in a small fishing boat to the North.
