The Republic of Sascrephonia is a representative democracy. Its leader is the High Mucky Muck. The recognized civilized races of elves, humans, halflings, gnomes, and dwarves each get to pick every three years one of their own to be the leader of the republic. Currently a gnome named Snodgrass Shimmelstanz is in that seat in the capital city of Chexx. Because of the mixing of the races the local dialect of the southern tongue has been named Chexxan (chay-zon).
